  About Tweetum.Net...
Tweetum.Net is Ed Smith's personal website.

Organic and Situational...
This is a freeform, organically developed, situation-
driven website mostly surrounding me and my friends.
This is the continuation of a long line of irregularly
available websites dating back to the original "ES"
site back in November 1996.  Tweetum has been up in
some form for about four or five years now, but I
just didn't do anything with it--lack of time and
need at the time.  But the site idea now has a
personal, utility, and social role to service, and
to that end I'm starting site development.

No Preconceptions...
There is no preplanned meaning to this site, it will
become what it needs to be.  I'm not gloriously
striving for Achievement, I'm just meeting a moving
utilitarian need.  The site will grow into what
it needs to be at the times it needs to be.  Even
I don't know what will happen!  I guess we'll all
find out in the coming days, months, and years.

Utilitarian...
The site is intended to be substance-driven for those
who care to need to use it.  As such, it will have and
sustain components which will range from HTML 1.0
to state-of-the-art cutting-edge services and ideas.
The site intends to be highly utilitarian, focusing on
raw usability, availability, and functionality over form.

Essentially attractive...
I could create a prettier site, and may.  But I always
thought establishing a highly theatrical website built
built on visuals, "gadgetry", and novelty implied the
content and utility were insufficiently meaningful and
the intended user base were sensate-driven morons.  This
site intends to first do something, then be essentially
attractive. True beauty is simple and functional, and
will exist here as technical needs dictate.

Compatible...
This web site will work with web browsers, period.
If the user is using a web browser, basic essential
functionality will be guaranteed. However, much of
the really cool stuff won't be available to browsers
which can't do really cool stuff.
